Nothing on this website or in any Civitas material is legal advice.

Accounting, audit, and tax services

Civitas is not a CPA firm. We do not perform audits, reviews, compilations, attestations, or any other assurance engagement, and we do not provide tax advice or tax preparation. Our financial and operational governance reviews are educational and advisory in nature and express no opinion or assurance on any financial statement, account, or transaction.

Investigative services

Civitas does not provide licensed investigative services, forensic examinations, or determinations of fraud, misconduct, or wrongdoing, and does not hold itself out as an investigative agency.

Community-association management

Civitas is not a community-association management company and does not provide licensed community-association management services. We do not manage associations, handle association funds, execute board decisions, direct vendors, or act as the association's agent.

Other licensed or specialist services

Civitas does not perform reserve studies, engineering or construction evaluations, property appraisals, insurance placement or claims advocacy, or real estate brokerage.

No guaranteed outcomes

Civitas does not guarantee compliance with any statute, regulation, or governing document; financial recovery of any kind; protection from claims, disputes, or liability; or any specific governance, financial, or operational result. Assessments, education, and advisory work are tools for understanding and improvement, not assurances.

Jurisdiction-specific content

Community-association law varies by state and changes over time. Where Civitas provides jurisdiction-specific education — including Georgia community-association governance and SB 406 readiness material — it is clearly identified as jurisdiction-specific education and is still not legal advice. Application to a particular association is a matter for that association's attorney.

Confidentiality is not privilege

Civitas treats client information as confidential. Confidentiality is not the same as attorney-client privilege, and communications with Civitas are not privileged. If a matter may become adversarial or involves potential legal exposure, involve your attorney.

Use of Civitas resources and templates

Templates, checklists, policies, and other resources are educational starting frameworks. They must be adapted to the association's own governing documents and circumstances and reviewed by the appropriate licensed professionals before adoption or reliance.
